dublab’s 9th annual Labrat Matinee
This Sunday, February 20th, our friends at dublab are hosting A Labrat Matinee 9: our minds align! Curated by Bryan Younce and Mark Frosty McNeill, this showcase aims to shine the spotlight on the most imaginative new music videos, animations, and comedy clips, including work from some Masses directors. Among the films this time are Alex Pelly’s VisionVersion for Javelin, along with Benjamin Kutsko’s video for the L.A. Ladies Choir. And of course director Matt Amato, who has contributed to all nine matinees, will be there, showing his newest music video for 60 Watt Kid. The event kicks off at 7:30 at the Cinefamily, but if you arrive early enough you’ll get to see an exclusive intro film by the talented Dugan O’Neal!!
Immediately following the films there will be a live performance from a surprise guest, after which Labrat djs will spin some soundtrack selections on the Spanish Patio. Tickets for the event are $12 (or free for Cinefamily members) and can be bought in advance here. The artists are all amazing and the night is sure to be a blast, so don’t miss out!!!
