Hiding Behind The Scenes
Sometimes the only thing more fun than watching a music video is seeing how it was made. That’s certainly the case with Hiding Behind the Scenes, the behind the scenes footage from The Eulogies’ latest music video “You Hide” (co-directed by Matt Amato and Azul Niño, starring Azul and Romy Flores).
So what is it exactly that makes this video so endearing? Well part of it comes from the chitchat between Matt, Azul, and Romy. Nearly every other word is alternated with a giggle or a smile, leaving us with no doubt that the trio had a blast the entire day. Then there’s the shots of fluttering leaves and hide and go seek, the typical scenes of childhood that send your mind right back to that one time in elementary school.
But the most charming scenes might be the ones that offer us a little glimpse of what these folks are really like. Whether that be through their stuck-out tongues or their twirling arms, what’s clear is that the project was genuine in a very unique way. The video’s premise was simple enough—to capture the innocent perspective of youth—and it’s clear that they did just that.
We’d like to give a special shout out to Erik Butts, the talented editor who compiled these clips together. Then there’s Peter Walker and Grant Leuchtner, the behind the scenes guys who appear in the footage and were an important part of the process. And last but not least there’s Vancouver, who despite being a canine is one of the most invaluable members on our team. The evocative score is by our friend in Tokyo, Yuchiro Fujimoto.
