OMG! Cameras Everywhere!
When music video director Isaac Ravishankara came to us with a dream to host a week-long film workshop for kids, we were pretty excited. A few months and a lot of hard work later, OMG! Cameras Everywhere! has officially become a reality. Together with Isaac, the DANIELS, and some of our friends at Doomsday Entertainment, the Masses hosted these workshops for kids ages 10-14 right here at our headquarters!
We believe that the increased accessibility of cameras to everyone today can potentially give kids the tools they need to create and communicate like never before. That’s why the goal of our event was to provide a unique opportunity for kids to experiment, develop artistically, learn new skills, and expand their worldview by enabling them to see through the lens of filmmaking and music videos.
Throughout the week we did all kinds of stuff, including field trips, live performances, and of course lots of shooting. We raised funds through our Kickstarter (for things like hard drives, food, transportation, etc.) and, because we own most of our own equipment, were able to offer the workshops to kids for free. To cap it all of we even had an end-of-the-week screening at Cinefamily!
We had so much fun that we’re now incorporating our venture into a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization called OMG Everywhere! So if you’d like more information or want to know how you can be involved in the camps, send us an email. And stay tuned for the launch of our website, loaded with videos and coming soon!!
