“Extremities” on Mashable’s Music Mondays
Ever wondered what would happen if you handed someone a half dozen tiny cameras and a skateboard and told him to go crazy? Well once upon a rainy day in Los Angeles, that sort of thing did happen to director Eli Stonberg, the result of which we bring you here. Extremities, a short film featuring skater Aryeh Kraus, is one of those videos you can’t watch just once. With the help of 6 GoPros, 2 Sony EX3s, and a Canon 7D, Extremities takes us on a journey that brings us from the skater’s sleeve down into the puddles he crashes through and everywhere in between. Thanks to some fantastic split-screens and a lovely soundtrack (Blackbird Blackbird‘s “Pure”), it’s superbly hypnotic and overstimulating all at the same time.
Extremities premiered on Mashable’s Music Mondays alongside an exclusive interview with Blackbird Blackbird and director Eli Stonberg. Seeing as it was featured by both LA Record and Fader within 24 hours of its release, it’s probably safe to say the video is worth checking out.
